Rosemary & Flaxseed Gel
PREP: 5 min | SET: 2 hrs
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons of raw flaxseed
2 tablespoons of rosemary
2 cups of water
Cheesecloth
ESSENTIAL OILS (Optional)
2 drops of lavender essential oil
2 drops of rose essential oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
Add the flaxseed loose.
Place the rosemary in a tea ball or tea bag and add to the pot. (Loose rosemary can poke through the cheesecloth, and that is not nice on the hands. )
Let flaxseed and rosemary boil for 2 minutes. Then, bring to a low heat and sit for 2 hours.
When the flaxseed in the pot has a gel-like consistency, turn off the heat, and when cooled, strain the gel through the cheesecloth.
STORE
Store the gel in a sealed container in the fridge. If you use a clean utensil or clean hands, it will last about 16 days.
USE
Gel is for hair growth and repair and is a natural collagen for skin.
HAIR
It works like a natural yummy-smelling gel. Getting the gel near the scalp promotes hair growth.
Dry hair: Add in the morning to hair. If you brush out the gel after it dries, it leaves a shiny hold with no visible residue.
Wet hair: Add when wet after a shower and it will reduce the fizz in your curls and hold waves.
Eyebrows: Also works well as an eyebrow gel.
SKIN
This recipe is thinner so it can serve as a day and night mask.
Nighttime: After nightly face routine, place mask over moisturizer on face, chest, and hands. Be as generous as you want. Slides on smoothly. Wash off in the morning.
Daytime: after putting on moisturizer, sunblock, and/or cosmetics, add a thin layer of the gel over the face and chest.
